Last Friday several Louisiana auto accidents resulted after area roads became covered in thin sheets of ice. Most of the reported Louisiana car crashes occurred on bridges, which can quickly freeze. About 11 Louisiana car accidents were reported in Morehouse Parish in about three hours. Two accidents in particular happened on the same bridge within eight minutes of one another.
Officials warn drivers to be more cautious when driving in icy conditions by slowing down and remaining aware of other drivers on the road.

Earlier this week a truck overturned on Interstate 12 near Covington, spilling all of its contents along the road and causing traffic delays for about 10 hours. According to the driver, the sun blocked his vision and caused him to swerve and lose control of his truck, which overturned along the interstate.
The Louisiana truck crash caused traffic delays for most of the day, as traffic was slow-going in both directions while road crews cleared the truck and its content from the road. All lanes were finally open a little before 6 p.m.
Additionally, the slow traffic caused a Louisiana auto accident, which resulted in minor injuries.
