Banning cell phone use in cars to prevent Baton Rouge auto accidents

Whether texting or talking, drivers can easily lose concentration while operating a cell phone. According to WAFB, one bill aims to put a hold on Baton Rouge auto accidents caused by cell phones with a new bill.

The bill that bans hand-held cell phone use while operating a vehicle has failed to pass previously. The bill has made it through the House Transportation Committee, and proponents hope it will decrease the number of Baton Rouge auto accidents attributed to cell phone use.

Louisiana fire kills mother and son

Fire safety is an important issue that may not get the attention it needs. Fire safety is often focused on children; however, adults and children alike need an escape plan in case of a fire.

Unfortunately, a Louisiana fire killed a Grosse Tete mother and her adult son, according to KATC.

The Louisiana fire occurred on Gardener Lane in Grosse Tete, and when authorities arrived the home was overtaken by flames. When the fire was out, rescue workers found the woman, 84, and her son, 69, in the home. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the Louisiana fire is ongoing, and authorities are unsure of the cause of the Louisiana house fire or the reason the occupants could not get out.

Car hits home in New Orleans auto accident

Do you ever wonder what causes individuals who flee the scene of auto accidents? Investigators are asking themselves this question after a New Orleans auto accident.

According to WWLTV, a New Orleans auto accident occurred when a vehicle crashed into a home on Almonaster Avenue. One man, 21, was found shot inside the vehicle and two others, a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old, were injured in the crash.

A Taurus was found abandoned and crashed into a fence across the street from the New Orleans auto accident. The occupants of the vehicle left the scene and police are looking for them. However, police are not certain of that crash’s relation to the vehicle that crashed into the home.
