Man arrested following Lafayette auto accident

admin May 27th, 2010

What is your first instinct when you are involved in a Louisiana car accident? Do you call for help? Do you try to exit your vehicle? For some, the first thought is to flee the scene of the crash.

That is what happened in a Lafayette car accident, according to KATC.

The Lafayette auto accident occurred on Verot School Road when a 1993 Buick Road Master struck eight cars and a school bus. The driver hit cars along Ambassador Cafferty and then struck another car on Verot School Roads. When the driver of that car tried to call 911, Lafayette police had already arrived on the scene of the subsequent Lafayette car accident and apprehended the fleeing Louisiana driver.

The Louisiana driver of the Road Master, a 32-year-old man, was charged with operating while intoxicated, hit and run, as well as reckless operation and possession of narcotics.

Baton Rouge auto accident kills woman

admin May 13th, 2010

Seatbelt laws are a controversial topic, with many people believing that requiring seatbelts impends on civil liberties and others arguing that it is necessary to save lives. The number of people killed in auto accidents is one reason for this controversy.

Unfortunately, a woman lost her life in a Baton Rouge auto accident and police believe she was not wearing a seatbelt, according to WAFB.

The Baton Rouge auto accident occurred on Monarch Avenue, killing the 41-year-old woman.

Police believe the woman lost control of the 2003 GMC envoy and struck a ditch. They also believe because she was thrown from the vehicle, she was not wearing a seatbelt.

Alcohol is also thought to be a factor in the Baton Rouge auto accident.
