If you live near Chef Menteur, you may have been disturbed by the sound of sirens recently. According to WWLTV, a New Orleans fire razed a gas station.
The New Orleans fire destroyed the gas station’s interior and contents, but the overnight disturbance did not end with the New Orleans fire on Chef Menteur.
Police say shortly after firefighters were called to the scene of the New Orleans fire, gun shots were reported at the same location.
Investigation into the New Orleans fire continues. Authorities have not released a cause, but there was no mention of New Orleans fire and burn injuries as a result of the blaze.

The environmental tragedy caused by the Gulf oil spill seems to present new challenges daily. Workers trying to contain the gushing oil had to halt their efforts because of a New Orleans fire.
According to WGNO, the New Orleans fire occurred when the Discoverer Enterprise ship caught fire.
The containment cap was not damaged in the New Orleans fire but had to be shut down as a precaution.
Five hours later, containment efforts were moving forward again. No one was injured as a result of the New Orleans fire. But the blaze raises concerns about challenges the Gulf area faces with cleanup efforts.

The elderly man inhabiting the Baton Rouge home on Mission Drive was able to escape without injury from a Baton Rouge fire at his home. When firefighters first arrived on the scene of the Baton Rouge fire, they thought the man was trapped in the home. However, they discovered he had escaped with no Baton Rouge fire or burn injuries.
Unfortunately, his home was damaged as a result of the blaze, the cause of which is still unknown.
