State police working to prevent Louisiana DUIs over holiday

Drunk driving laws don’t just apply to those who operate motor vehicles. In fact, boaters are caught with Louisiana DUIs too, and boaters driving under the influence can lead to Louisiana drunk driving accidents that injure DUI victims.
However, according to WAFB, the state police are working to prevent Louisiana drunk driving accidents, both on the roads and the water.
Authorities say last year there were 252 Louisiana drunk driving accidents on the roads over the holiday weekend. In those Louisiana drunk driving accidents, 64 were injured and one was killed.
The last time the Independence Day holiday involved a three-day weekend, there were 123 Louisiana drunk driving accident injuries and six deaths.
